Solne Kim – Artist

Solne Kim is an artist based in Kronberg im Taunus who specializes in Minhwa, traditional Korean folk painting. Since 2015, she has run her own studio on Grabenstraße 7, where she exhibits her work and offers painting courses. Her art combines traditional motifs with modern elements and personal experiences. A recurring central symbol in her work is the whale, representing freedom and the pursuit of dreams. Through this symbolism, Solne Kim creates a bridge between heritage, individuality, and contemporary expression.

In addition to her artistic practice, Solne Kim is actively involved in cultural education. She has conducted workshops for events such as Korean Culture Day at Goethe University Frankfurt, among others. One of her solo exhibitions was presented at Baumstark Dental Practice in Kronberg, where it became a compelling project showcasing the many facets of Korean aesthetics and fostering interest in the cultural diversity and expressive richness of Minhwa painting.

At Solne Studio, creative courses are offered regularly, allowing both children and adults to learn and experience the art of Korean painting. Through her artwork and cultural engagement, Solne Kim plays an important role in keeping Korean art and culture vibrant in Germany and making it accessible to a broad audience.
